Flying V Ranch - Ranch and Performance Horse Breeding at it's best!

Mini Aussies

Flying V Ranch

Miniature Australian Shepards

We can hardly wait to offer you this wonderful breed! But alas - we must wait as our breeding stock are still pups.

I am not going to write a page on the history of this breed of dog - if you are in the market for a miniature australian shepard then I am going to figure that you have already done your research on the breed. Let's not waste time telling you something that you already know.

Our black tri male - Ringo - comes from family pet stock out of Grass Valley. When Ringo was the only pup on the ranch he stayed far away from the horses. Ringo has really surprised me with how much he has adapted to ranch life. Ringo is down in the pastures with the horses, either hunting squirrels or wanting to investigate the colt. Ringo has developed a lot of self confidence which I attribute to his Texas mail order bride.

Our female - Sadie - was shipped to us from Texas and comes from serious working stock. Hopefully she will adapt to NOT working my horses and settle in to being a family pet. She is a gorgeous blue merle w/tons of copper trim. Sadie, who is about 4 months younger than Ringo, has already taught Ringo how to"cowboy-up". Sadie is a true Texas woman - strong and confident.  I have nicknamed Sadie "Trouble" - she is a digging machine. In her defense we do have ground squirrels, cotton tail rabbits and gophers that started the holes. I think Sadie is trying to dig in after them. Sadie and Ringo have developed quite the palate for dead ground squirrel - I have taken several squirrel carcasses & bones away from them. But hey, when your raising horses the only good squirrel is a dead one!

Please check back often - I will post pictures as these two mature - you can see them grow up along with me.

Sadie is expecting her first litter of pups Labor Day weekend!  Sadie has become the best little hunting dog - she catches squirrels, gophers, birds, mice & lizards - she is better than owning a barn cat! She sticks to me like glue when I am working outside - rides with me on the quad even!  I love this dog!

Ringo is still pretty much citified (sissyfied).  He does help Sadie corner the squirrels and he loves chasing the birds in the pasture - but he does this with reckless abandone. Ringo is the agility dog.
